Henry's presence in Greenwood Cemetery is known only through cemetery records which show his burial there on 12 Jan 1915.

The spelling of his surname is from cemetery records. His name is spelled differently in almost every source record. Date of birth is calculated from information in cemetery records indicating that he was 77 years, 8 days, old at the time of his death.

Henry is buried on a lot owned by Joseph Ross. The only marker presently visible on this lot is one for Heinrich C Kriens, who may be Henry's father. Greenwood Cemetery records show the burial of one other person on this lot, Baby Korff.

Joseph Ross is shown in various censuses as having been born in Mecklenburg, Germany. His date of birth, as recorded in those censuses, varies from about 1835 (1880 US census) to Jun 1839 (1900 US census). His wife, Sophia I/J, is also shown as having been born in Mecklenburg, with dates of birth ranging from June 1836 (1900 US census), to about 1839 (1880 US census), to about 1842 (1875 New York State census and 1910 US census). The New York Death Index, 1842-1956, shows Joseph's death on 22 Sep 1914 in USA, NY, Niagara, Wilson, and Sophia's on 29 Dec 1911 in USA, NY, Niagara, Newfane. There is no present evidence that they were buried on Joseph's lot in Greenwood. Their burial places are presently unknown.

In the 1900 US census, Joseph and Sophia's household is shown as consisting of themselves; their daughter, Mary H; their son-in-law, Charles J Corff (Korff); and Henry Arines, who is described as a boarder. Although Mary is shown with the surname Ross, it is clear from the other information given that she and Charles were married. Based on the information about him, it is also clear that Henry Arines is actually Henry Kreins/Krines.

The 1905 New York State census shows Charles Korff as the head of a household consisting of himself; his son, Aaron; his sister, Lillian Korff; and Henry Krines, who is there described as uncle. The New York Death Index, 1852-1956, shows the death of Mary Korff on 21 Apr 1903 in USA, NY, Niagara, Wilson. Her place of burial is presently unknown.

The 1910 US census shows Charles as the head of a household consisting of himself; his second wife, Elsie (Elizabeth); Aaron, his son with Mary; Ruth, his daughter with Elsie; and Henry Kriner/Krines, who is again described as uncle.

It is, of course, possible that Henry was not an actual biological uncle, or that he was a great-uncle. His date of birth, however, is within the range to be a sibling of either Charles' parents, or of Mary's. Considering the fact that Henry is first found living with Joseph Ross, it is possible that he was Mary's uncle. Also considering that he had a different surname, it appears more likely that he might have been the brother of Sophia, Joseph's wife, whose maiden name is presently not known. However, it is also possible that he was Charles' biological uncle, and again, because of the differing surname, that he might have been the brother of Charles' mother, Fredericka "Reka" Korff. However, several online family trees show Reka's maiden name as Felton, although without source attribution.

The 1910 US census shows Henry as a widower. He has not been found in any source records with a wife.
